Speak Your Mind SA is a registered Non-Profit Organisation (NPO 077589-NPO) dedicated to empowering South African youth and underserved communities. We focus on education, mentorship, personal development, and community upliftment programs that promote dignity, confidence, and growth.
Anyone between the ages of 18 and 35 who is passionate about learning, personal growth and community development can ae encouraged to apply.
Not necessarily! Most of our programs are entry-level and skills-based, designed for individuals who may not have formal work experience or tertiary qualifications. However, some specialized learnerships or internships may require Grade 12 (Matric) or specific technical knowledge — this will always be stated in the program details.

Absolutely. Speak Your Mind SA is an inclusive organisation committed to equal opportunities. We actively encourage applications from persons with disabilities and ensure that our training spaces and learning materials are accessible, accommodating and supportive.
While many of our programs are based in Soweto and surrounding areas, we welcome applications from youth across South Africa. Some programs may be delivered online or in partnership with organizations in other provinces.
Our programs mainly target unemployed and underemployed youth who are seeking practical skills, mentorship, and pathways into the job market. However, motivated individuals who are studying part-time or working informally are also encouraged to apply.
We offer a range of skills development, digital media, creative and business-focused programs, including:
  • Learnerships and accredited training
  • Digital Media & Creative Arts Academy
  • Entrepreneurship and Work Readiness Workshops
  • Internships and Job Placement Support
  • Mentorship and Youth Empowerment Initiatives
Each program blends theory with hands-on experience, ensuring participants gain both practical knowledge and confidence.
No. All our programs are free of charge to accepted participants. In fact, many of our learnerships and internships come with a monthly stipend to help cover basic needs such as transport and meals.
Applications can be submitted by following the instructions provided on the designated application platform or by contacting our support team for further guidance.
All donations directly support our programs, resources for youth, and operational costs. Speak Your Mind SA maintains transparency in financial reporting and accountability to our supporters.

Because we empower South African youth and communities to rise with confidence, creativity and dignity. Through education, mentorship and hands-on programs, we transform lives, foster leadership, and build a stronger, inspired future—one young person at a time
  1. Dignity-First Approach: Every program is designed to uplift participants while respecting their dignity. We don’t just provide services; we empower communities to feel valued, confident, and capable.
  2. Youth-Centered Programs: Our after-school programs, mentorship and learnership initiatives are tailored specifically to meet the developmental, educational and emotional needs of South African youth, keeping them safe, inspired, and engaged.
  3. Community Impact: We focus on holistic community upliftment, not just individual support. This includes education, wellness, mentorship and creative opportunities that strengthen entire communities.
  4. Accessibility and Inclusivity: Programs are free, ensuring that even underserved families and youth can participate. We prioritize inclusivity across all races, genders, and abilities.
  5. Sustainable Partnerships: We collaborate with schools, NGOs, corporates and media partners to create lasting impact. Our partnerships amplify resources, mentorship and opportunities for the communities we serve.
  6. Innovative Learning Experiences: From dance and arts to practical life skills and homework assistance, we blend creativity with personal development, helping youth build confidence, discipline and belonging.
  7. Transparency and Accountability: Speak Your Mind SA is fully registered and maintains clear reporting on finances, programs, and outcomes, building trust with donors, volunteers and participants alike.
